Friday Night Project host Alan Carr is said to be joining BBC Radio 2 in replace for Russell Brand. The Mirror claims producers at the station were determined to have a comedian back in the late night slot.
The BBC have yet to confirm the report, but a spokesman for Alan Carr confirmed "He is in talks about a role on Radio 2, but not necessarily in Russell's former slot"
Alan Carr was first heard on the network on Christmas Day 2007 when he hosted Alan Carr's Christmas Box. He co-hosted The Russell Brand show in October last year, along with one-off programmes on BBC 6 Music. He now hosts the Sunday Night Project on BBC 1.
