BBC Essex radio presenter dies

Popular BBC Essex presenter John Hayes has died at the age of 61 after losing his short battle against lung cancer.
The afternoon drive-time host passed away on Thursday evening at a hospice in Chelmsford, after a broadcasting career lasting over three decades.
John has been hosting his regular show at BBC Essex for almost 10 years, before which he was a well known voice on the Essex airwaves with stints at Essex Radio.
Previously, he was at Radio 210, Radio West and the United Biscuits Network before joining the BBC in 1990.
