GMG Radio has appointed Chris Stevens to the new role of Group Production Director, looking after the Smooth, Real and Rock Radio brands.
Chris returns to the group after four years as the Vice President and Creative Director at TM Studios in Dallas, Texas.
Before moving to Texas, Chris worked at BBC Radio 2 and produced audio for Real Radio, JAZZ FM and Smooth FM in his previous role of Group Head of Production at GMG.
His role will report into Group Programme Director John Simons, who said: “I am delighted to welcome Chris back to the team. The skills he has acquired whilst Creative Director at TM will be a huge asset to GMG Radio. I’ve been trying to get him back across The Pond for four years so I’m gratified that my persistence has finally paid off and Chris is returning to our family.”
Chris Stevens added: “I’m really excited to be returning to GMG Radio. The group has grown significantly in the last few years, and I’m looking forward to be able to bring my experience of radio in the US and beyond with me. I’ll be sad to leave my sunshine-filled life as a jingle producer in Dallas, but the timing is right and I’m ready to be based in the UK again. This opportunity was too good to miss.”
Chris takes up his position on July 5th and will be based at GMG Radio in Manchester.
