hey guys and gals!
today im teaching you how to get your shoutcast station up and running!
alot of people think that this is very hard but its not! you just need a good host and a great forum to help you start up!

1. Finding that great host!
Finding a shoutcast host can be hard.. there are soo many choices out there and so many different options! some options include what stream rate should i run for? should i go with a well known host? can i do it myself?? those questions can be answered here at broadcastingworld! just search the forums or ask a question by posting a thread! if you want a quality host please look in the hosting offers section :)

2. Setting up the server on your computer!
Once you have ordered your server and gotten the login details.. you are now ready! firstly you will need to download WINAMP and SHOUTCAST SOURCE, once thats done and all installed.. we shall continue!

Firstly you should open up winamp and right click and select 'options' then go to 'plug ins' and click 'DSP/Effect', now you should see 'Nullsoft Shoutcast Source DSP', click on that and select 'configure active plugin'

You should see a screen like this popup..

Now its time to configure it!

Go to the 'output' tab and click 'connection'.. add all your details...
Address: (the url you were given by your host also dont include the : and the numbers at the end, just the URL)
Port: (the numbers at the end of your url)
Password: your password given or chosen

Now, try clicking 'connect'
If it connects.. now you should be able to stream audio on your server!
IF IT DOESNT CONNECT PLEASE POST A SUPPORT THREAD IN OUR FORUMS! We Will Be Able To Help You!
You can now also add station info on the 'yellowpages' tab

3. Listening to your stream
Ok.. now your up and running
guide your visitors to your stream! you can guide them to the url you were given by your host or you can give them a direct link!
your page url should look like this...
http://myhost.com:xxxx

And your page should look like this..

You can direct users to the "listen" link in the menubar on that page :)

Enjoy!
