
The 2009 Radio Festival has unveiled an impressive line-up for this
year’s event at the Nottingham Playhouse between June 29 and July 2,
it’s hosted by Nicky Campbell.
Notable contributors include
Channel 4’s Jon Snow presents Making Waves Behind Bars – The Power of
Prison Radio featuring the Sony award winners behind Electric Radio
Brixton.
Other highlights include Tim Davie, Director of BBC
Audio and Music, on his first year in radio, John Myers on the function
of localness in radio, while Shadow Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt MP
will be unveiling the Tories’ plans for radio.
New BBC Radio 2
Controller Bob Shennan and RadioCentre’s Andrew Harrison are among the
industry heavyweights to be grilled by BBC media correspondent Torin
Douglas and BBC Radio 4’s Media Show will be recorded live on stage
with Steve Hewlett.
Paul Gambaccini will pay tribute to the broadcasters who have inspired him. Plus Danny Baker will host the event's Gala Banquet.
