Spacial Audio has scrapped the controvercial SAM Broadcaster Pro for Mac after two years of development and a quiet release in 2015.

There was a big positive response upon the release of the Mac version, but it further followed on with a flood of complaints from users having trouble with permissions, linking the database and overall the performance of the software. It was known that the software was ported to Mac from the PC version and was in BETA.

UPDATE (1/5/2015): Spacial Audio replied to our request for comment with:

We regret to inform you that we are discontinuing the Mac edition of SAM Broadcaster Pro as we are not happy with the overall user experience, stability and a number of technical issues which are as a result of running a relatively advanced Windows application on an environment it was not designed for. We have taken the decision to discontinue this product instead of continuing a product which does not meet our standards and which performance is largely out of our hands. We would recommend using SAM Broadcaster Pro on Windows as we will no longer be supporting the Mac version. We sincerely apologise for any inconviniences caused. Thanks for listening!
