Recently, Stream Licensing users have been reporting issues with the legacy popup player, citing that it shows a MySQL socket error. The error shows as follows:
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
MySQL is a database server used to store data. When the error message states that it cannot connect, this may mean that the database Stream Licensing was using has now changed or the login details for it are incorrect. This issue is not something you can rectify yourself as the problem is within the code/database hosted by Stream Licensing.
Unfortuantely the legacy player appears to be defunct. To fix this, simply upgrade to the new player within your control panel, or formulate the URL yourself:
Old URL: http://www.streamlicensing.com/play/player.php?sid=<STATION ID>&stream_id=<STREAM ID>
New URL: http://player.streamlicensing.com/<STATION ID>?l&stream_id=<STREAM ID>
Simply replace the <STATION ID> and <STREAM ID> variables to update to the new player.
If you have any issues updating to the new player, head over to our Community Forums, one of our friendly members will happily assist.
