Winamp website updated, future development certain

Winamp has recently updated their website with a new look and splash page. Whilst the software itself has not changed just yet, the website will be undergoing an overhaul visually over the next few months according to the Winamp forums which are still active.

"As you all surely know by now, Winamp & SHOUTcast have recently changed ownership.

The winamp.com website is currently undergoing heavy work and an almost-completely new redesign. As a result, many features will be unavailable, including some in-client services.

The Winamp downloads will also be temporarily unavailable whilst code licensed to/by the previous owner is removed/replaced.

We hope to have everything restored and back in working order as soon as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused in the meantime."

SHOUTcasts website has been unaffected apart from AOL, the previous owner of Winamp and SHOUTcast, their branding being removed. It was announced earlier this year that Radionomy acquired Winamp and SHOUTcast from AOL. Radionomy has confirmed that it will commit to providing updates and a fresh update on both services.

Broadcasting World is due to interview Radionomys CEO in the next few weeks in regards to the changes, stay tuned on our website for more information.
